How to Dress Like an Artist: Featuring Mia Lee

A celebration of color, creativity, and fashion.

Spring has arrived, and with it, a celebration of bold creativity and vibrant style. Today, we spotlight the incomparable Mia Lee in “How to Dress Like an Artist.”

Mia is making waves as one of the art world's rising stars. Her figurative paintings delve into the delicacies of relationships, human experiences, and emotions, offering both intimate first-person and reflective third-person perspectives. You may recognize her work from the latest Chance the Rapper video or have crossed paths with her during collaborations with Nike and Urban Outfitters.

Mia’s art has graced prestigious spaces, including Art Basel, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and the acclaimed Skins and Masks exhibition curated by Vic Mensa. Recently featured in Harper’s Bazaar, her momentum continues with Cherry Mountain Arts Gallery’s latest exhibition, "From Art Haus to Yours." Curated by Kendall Hurns, this show brings together talents like Hebru Brantley, Brandon Deener, Julian Gaines, b. Robert Moore, and Robert Patterson. The exhibition opens today, April 13th, and runs through May 14th, 2023. Don’t miss your chance to experience this dynamic collection in person.

For this portfolio, we embraced color as our muse—just as Mia does in her work. Collaborating with @NeimanMarcusMichiganAvenue, we dressed Mia in a striking Dion Lee sculpted dress with exaggerated shoulders, capturing the essence of an artist’s flair. The portfolio, photographed by @CurranCorbett, showcases Mia glowing in hues that reflect her artistry. Makeup was masterfully executed by Delisa Lee (@HotFace1), and her hair was styled by Henri Mitchelle (@HenriMitchelleCosmetics), who reminds you to "TELL THEM I SENT YOU."
